The mission of the Legislative Advocate's Office is to advocate on behalf of the residents of Sacramento County to promote, preserve, and improve Sacramento County's programs and services. Primary focus is on advocacy before the State Legislature in support or opposition to proposed state legislation which impacts the County, including the need for continued state funding in the Governor's budget. Positions on legislation and the state budget are taken based on review by the affected County department(s) as well as consistency with legislative policies the Board of Supervisors adopts annually. The Office also takes the lead on getting legislation passed and signed into law that County departments recommend and the Board of Supervisors endorses.
